Candy Cane Freebie Just for the Holidays!

So this week has been a long week so far.  I keep getting sad because I keep thinking it's Thursday and everytime I realize it's not, I get so bummed!  I can't wait for Friday though, it's our last day before our holiday break! Ahhhh freedome for a week. =)

It's been a crazy week.  Everytime I think about the horrible tragedy over at CT I get so tuned out from what I am doing and it ruins my mood.  I still can't believe something like this happened to innocent children.  What's even  more scarier is that it's so close to where I live, NJ.    I tried to explain it in kid words to my class, what happened but luckily for them it's way too difficult for them to comprehend.  I just hope that this never happens again. =(

Moving on to a brighter topic, the holidays are really right around the corner!  I was so0o0o excited to share a brand new craft for you all, BUT I am having some issues with my scanner right now, so, wahhh it will have to wait.  Hopefully, by next week I will surprise you all with a fabulous treat just in time for the New Year!

Not to worry I have something for you today!!  I have recently posted up a fun Sight Words Packet for my kiddies using Pre Primer and Primer Dolch Words!  I have decided JUST for tonight I will make it free for all of you as a holiday treat. =)  Here is a glimpse of this fun Packet:

This Packet Includes:
Pre Primer and Primer Dolch Sight Words
Directions on how to play
Worksheet for them to complete once the game is over

Definitely grab one of these for the holidays. It's a fun center that will keep the kiddies interested and eager to work on their sounding out skills.

Your kiddies will have such a great time with this game.  It's such a great way to improve their reading/sounding out skills.  It's also such a nice way to strengthen the student's communicating skils/working with their peers.

If you download this, please make sure to leave me a comment letting me know what you think.  I love to hear from you all!

You can grab this packet HERE or you can visit my Store .    It will be free only until 12am tonight.  Make sure to grab it before time runs out. =) Enjoy!

12 in 12 Linky!

Hey everyone.  So far I have a post everyday this week!  Talk about being with it. =)  I am so excited to do this 12 in 12 linky!  Sounds like such a fun way to get to know some fabulous teachers!  I am linking up with the one and only Hadar !

12. Favorite movie you watched:

I would like to say that I did see some terrible movies. And as much as I want to say "Magic Mike" was my favorite...I'd feel awful because it didn't have a good story line just some fabulous eye candy !  So  here is mine..

Well let me explain this movie... It's about Denzel ( awesome actor) who's a pilot and the plane unfortuantely crashes.  However because he was such a great pilot he was able to save the plane from killing anyoone.  After some investigation they find that he had been doing somethings before the flight that are ...let's just say illegal!  My fiance says it's a true story.  Not sure if he's lying or not but it just definitely gets you thinking!  If you are already afraid of planes...Do NOT watch this. =)

11. Favorite TV series:

Is it bad if I say any "Housewives" I am obsessed with?

Please don't judge me for absolutely loving these ladies!  They are not my idols by any means.  But boy do I just laugh and giggle when I see them.  They are well beyond their 30's and the drama never ends.  It's always fun to see the new characters and see the different spin they give they show.  If you haven't watched it, just watch one episode!  It sure will make you laugh. =)

10. Favorite restaurant:

Okay seriously I just love this restaurant.  Yes it can be a tad over my budget but whenever my honey and I had a fun day or even getting over a tiff.. we are always like...let's go to Franco's for dinner.  Yum.  I want some now.  My favorite dish is called "Chicken Danielle" : Chicken w prosciutto, mozz and roasted red peppers. Ahh Now I want some!

9. Favorite new thing you tried:

Obviously my TpT Store and my Blog!  I am forever grateful to my buddie/bridesmaid Teri for introducing me to it.  It's so weird. I go home and either blog or craft and I can't seem to remember what I used to do before TpT or my Blog ever existed. So thanks girl! =)

8. Favorite gift you got:

Wellllll......

I got engaged. I love this picture.  I look so truly happy! =)

I just love it so much!!  People are always saying how gorgeous it is and they could see it shine from across the room. <3

7. Favorite thing you pinned:

:)

No, I am not married yet nor do I live with my honey, but I can't wait until I do.  And I know I will feel this way.

I also know I feel this way for sure. =)

How true is this? At least I know for my fiance and I it is.  I think when we are bored we just annoy each other. =) Ah it makes me smile.

6. Favorite blog post:

Definitely my post on how to make crates!  It was so much fun making it and I loved the end result:

Can I just say my kids absolutely are obsessed with these crates and always want to sit in them.  And can I say my chair is the most comfortable thing ever!

5. Best accomplishment:

Definitely finising my Master's in Reading.  It's such a great feeling to know I futhered my education and have learned so much through the process.  I completed my master's at

Great program for us teachers with some awesome professors!

3. Favorite memory

Definitely getting engaged!
This is us the following day at our mini "engagement party"

One of my best bridesmaids made this for me and I just loveeeee it. <3

2. Goals for 2013:

A Rudolph the Reindeer Frenzy & Where is Freddy the Elf?

So my fellow blogger Teri  from A Cupcake for the Teacher  and I share a bulletin board at school.  We got it this year and were so excited.  So for the holidays we decided to do Rudolph!  Take a look...

Not sure why everyime I take a pic of this board it looks crooked!! Grr...  Anywho this is how I decorated my classroom door.  The crafts are my Reindeer Craftivity Packet and my Gingerbread Packet

I love the way it looks.  I have gotten so many compliments from it!  Here is what one of the reindeer looks like...

The kids had such a great time making this.  It was a great time and they loved coming up with ideas on what to do if they had a reindeer.  =)

What's that ? You want to know what Freddy has been up to in our class lately?

He's just playing with shapes which we are coincidentally reviewing this week.  The kiddies made sure they were on their best behavior today during Math.  They knew he would be watching them to see if they knew all the solid shapes we were reviewing. LoL  I am now using Freddy to me advantage and I will be so sad when the holidays are over because he has been a great backup to use when they are chatty.  All I have to say is, "Boys and girls....Freddy's watching".  They turn into complete little sweethearts after that. =)

Enjoy your night

What has Freddy the Elf Been Up To?

Omg what a busy week it has been!  I had a very important lady observe my class Monday....Ahh!! We had back to school night yesterday and don't forget Christmas shopping...all in the same week.  So exhausting but the week is almost over.  To be honest what has gotten me by is where I will put the elf the next day. LoL.  I have never been so into it before but seeing all these great ideas from Pinterest has got me really involved!

So to start the week off on the right track I gave the kiddies donuts Monday, as a treat. They were so great the week before I had to treat them ...and myself for having such a great class!

Anywho, a  student asked me if we can leave a donut for Freddy the Elf.  I said sure and immediately thought what I would do the next day.  Look what my cutesy brain came up with.

If you can see on the right hand side...those are crumbs from the donut he ate!  LoL... I also had him look like he had written them a letter.  The letter went something along the lines how they are great kiddies and to keep trying their best and to always remember Santa is watching.  They of course wanted to die!  They couldn't believe he ate the donut.  It made me giggle a bit!

So needless to say they weren't their best behaved that day. LoL.. Why would they be . I mean the Elf ONLY left them a note to remember to behave.  LoL  I knew I had to incorporate their behavior with the Elf somehow for the next day...and so I did.

It's hard to see..so here is a close up look at what Freddy the Elf did.

He was lounging in the bandaids jar!  I left them a note as well along the lines of " You hurt my feelings and your teacher's bc you were not well behaved.  This is why I have bandaids on because I am so hurt"  Please try to be your best today.  LoL.  Just writing this I am dying laughing.  It's too cute and they all seriously listened to him and were back to themselves again... which is Great!

Next day I kept thinking what I would do next.  I realized I had not put up my class tree yet...so of course I then came up with this!

Seriously.... how adorable?  Ughh too cute!
I have to start thinking about tomorrow.  Gosh I am such a child.  I can't wait to do this with my own kiddies one day. =)

Okay ...so you have to come back Sunday and check out my latest craft:  New Year's!  Stay tuned for that and another fabulous giveawayof my own!... Speaking of giveaways.. don't foret to check out my bloggy gal's giveaway!

Okay yall ...enjoy your night! =)

Freddy the Elf with a side of Christmas Treats!

Hey everyone!  Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday and excited for work tomorrow. ( half kidding) LoL.  I have to make this blog short.  I have grades that are due by 12 and I want to set up my Christmas tree tonight. =)  I also have a very important person dropping by our classrooms tomorrow to see how well centers are going.  So I need to be prepared and focused.  She could be a toughy and I am very sensitive.  I can just see myself crying! LoL

Our Elf finally showed up in the classroom this week.  I had been so busy and couldn't find the time to think of him.  But he finally came to the classroom Friday.    I even wrapped the book for the kiddies.  Take a look at where he was. =)

He looks so adorable and peaceful. I have been looking up some places where he can be found and boy do people have some awesome ideas!  Stay tuned this week to see where Freddy ( my class named him) can be found next.
