Early Finishers Literacy Pack

Happy Thursday all.  If you are like me then you started school today with the kids.  It was so hot!  I felt so bad for the little ones because we could carely get through the day without drinking water every 15-20 minutes.  But year 11 is in the books!  I can't believe I have been teaching 11 years.  That flew by. I feel like every year I get better and more organized as a teacher which not only helps me but helps my class as well.  

I have created a new set that is super quick and are fun printables to get those early finishers still working while the class is still on task.  These printables are perfect for the beginning of the year for your little ones to see where your students are at and what they are capable of doing.  It can also be used for buddy work, center time and homework if your feeling risky.

I like these printables is much because it follows a theme and gets the kids excited about the season or holiday.  These two printables above go with back to school and also the Fall/Halloween theme.  It's a cute idea to get the early finisher working and thinking of fun ideas.

These ditto's have to do with reading, reading comprehension sounding out and cutting/pasting.  I think these are perfect for center work so the students can work together and share their thoughts and ideas.  It also incorporates coloring which is always a hit in my classroom. Some of these printables can be used over and over again as they are generic and can be applied to different stories read in the classroom.

BONUS!  I have included a few sheets implementing some math strategies.  There's always those few students that love Math and working on practice skills.  Keep these ditto's in handy specifically for those students and for those you want to challenge.

Has it seriously been that long sing I have blogged?  My goodness!  Where have I been?  My life has been crazy hectic.. but I am back!   With a fun little pack to get your little ones and MINE excited for back to school.  

Staying Busy in September

Last year, I literally relied on my Staying Busy Packs all of last year.  I have a bunch of packs from amazing bloggers, but these packs were mostly used for centers and homework last year.  Here is a sneak peak of what's in my latest pack.   It's filled with things that would go perfect for the month and has tons of activities the kids will love to work on.

I love to introduce just the *idea* of ABC order at the beginning of the year.  We work on it slowly and as the year progresses, they start to understand it more.  This is a fun printable just to get the idea introduced.

My little ones loved my making connections sheets.  They enjoyed it mostly because they are working on so many different things, they don't have time to relax.  Their reading, writing, highlighting and drawing.  It's always a hit!

Printables like these make my little ones think and thats a good thing, right?!  I have a few printables like these that work on cutting, pasting and sequencing.  

First graders love numbers and they love to understand what's bigger and smaller.  This is perfect for working on greater than and less than.

Another cute worksheet that works on more than one skill.  I know my little ones will enjoy doing this for centers, buddy work or even homework.  

Matching numbers is perfect for back to school.  My little ones struggle with identifying number words.  This is a perfect little practice sheet that can get them working on these important skills that will definitely be needed through the year!

Punctuation Posters Fun!

Happy Sunday!  I leave in less than a week to Vegas with my hubby, so I wanted to make sure I posted about my latest projects and ideas.

As school approaches, I try to create things I know my little ones will enjoy.  I created Parts of Speech Posters pack a few weeks back.  I tried to keep thinking of what else I think my kiddies could benefit from.  So I came up with this…

Punctuation Posters

I tried to keep the same idea.  Really cute printables, bright posters and great guides for your little ones to refer to when struggling.  

The posters are nice and bright to catch your student's eyes.  You can place them around the class and have your students refer to them when needing some reminder or ideas.  The posters also come with a list of examples for each punctuation, which I think my students would really appreciate. 

The printables can be used for centers, buddy work, early finishers or homework.  I feel with the easy and simple directions, they could do this on their own or with a buddy.

I love the cut and paste printables.  It's always one of my student's favorite activities.  I tried to include that in this pack.  I also like incorporating writing with my printables.  This way my students are practicing their handwriting at the same time. 

Sorting is important for my students.  It lets me know they are mastering what they are learning and can show me that through sorting.  It doesn't hurt that it's fun to complete either. =)
