All Things Green!

So I  love St. Patty's Day!  And it's almost here!

AHHHH!

I have been wrapping my head around what treats/gifts to make for my kiddies that day.  So I went on a Pinterest hunt!  So excited I did because I love what I found!

It kind of looks like the Valentine's Day pencils I posted about recently. You can check that post out HERE  These pencils are from Accardian Cards from Etsy.

Then I came across this delicious treat!

I got this from Mrs. Fox's Sweets It looks easy enough to make and boy does it looks yummy!

I also found these adorable pencil clip art

This is actually FREE!  It's from Krista over at the The Creative Chalkboard.

What do you usually do for St. Patty's day?

I'd love to hear your ideas!

We completed my St. Patrick's Day Little Leprechauns this week.  My little ones loved making them. I will be posting pictures tomorrow.  They came out so cute!!

Off to watch my reality tv...my addiction!

Reading Comprehension Survival Kit!

I have been working on this center bundle since January!  I wanted it to be PERFECT so I took my sweet  time with it.  Originally I was always on the search for reading comprehension printables and thought I should just make my own to create exactly what I am looking for.  I am so glad I did because I can't wait to go back to school and use it on my kiddos.  I know it will definitely be a hit with them!

It's a bundle full of all the printables you need for improving reading comprehension skills.  You can rearrange the board as needed.  If you are learning certain reading skills for the week, you can post those up as a reference for the kiddies.

This packet can be used in a variety of ways:
-centers
-independent work after reading a story
-buddy work
-whole group
-homework

The possibilities are endless!
There are tons of reading skills reviewed in this packet!  The best thing I love about this packet is that the printables are reusable.  They are interchangeable and can be used over and over again for stories.  It's a great way to keep your little one's attention and having fun at the same time.

There are printables for different skills that include:
-story elements
-comparing and contrasting
-author's purpose
-sequencing
-retelling
-favorites
-inferencing and predicting
-fact vs opinion
-fiction vs non fiction
-changing endings
-describing characters
-writing letters
-cause and effect
- the 5 w's (who, what, when,where and why)
-posters in color and b&w
-roll and read with recording sheets
-reading log

This KIT includes posters with important skills that students should master.  These poster's are in black and white and in color.  It's up to you how to use them.  I prefer them to be in the student's center folders.  They can use these folders as a reference when needed and doing center work with their peers.  The color posters can be used for the board as you interchange them for each week depending on the skills being taught or for reinforcing.

It's a great visual!  Here are some closer looks at the bundle:

If you want to get some more info on this packet or would like to grab this perfect reading comprehension bundle you can grab it HERE or go to my { TpT } store to check out what else I have!

I go back to school tomorrow!  I can't believe the week went by so fast.  I had so much to do that it flew by!

Now, I have to catch up with some reality tv!

WAIT!

How could I forget?

If you leave a comment saying you are a follower of my blog, TpT or my Pinterest you will be entered for a chance to win this KIT .  I will do random generator tonight at 12am.

Good Luck!

Congrats to Little Miss Organized Amy
Sending you the kit ASAP!

Fabulous Teacher Finds!

Hey everyone!  I hope everyone enjoyed their day off yesterday!  If you have off this week like me your probably relaxing and enjoying your time off!

My honey and I are so excited because we saw a house we loved yesterday.  We want to buy a 2 family house to make it an *investment* and we found one we truly enjoyed. However, it needs some minor updating. =(  Not sure yet if we are willing to go the extra mile to update but I guess we shall see.

Anywho,  recently I posted about my room and how I am in dire need of a small library.

I have a small window sill that I use to display the books I will be reading for the month.

So I went on a book stand hunt!  I no longer could stand a small breeze coming through the window and knocking down all my darn books.  My kiddies were starting to tell I was getting frustrated!
LoL

Guess what I found today at Really Good Stuff!

A perfect fabulous find made just for me I'm sure. =)

It's called a Book Display Stand.  Click HERE to check it out and get more details.

It's a strong wire rack able to hold up big books, picture books ..pretty much any kind of book! There's even a magnetic strip that lets you title the display each month.  What an awesome idea!

I feel like this would be perfect for that window sill where I put my books for the month.
Of course I ordered it.  It's a great deal too!  It's only $24.99.
I can't wait to get it and set it up.

Another fabulous find from Really Good Stuff are my amazing Privacy Shields!

I bought a pack of 3 years ago and it's still in great shape!  It really is perfect for those little ones who have wandering eyes during test time.

Before the privacy shields, I use to have the kiddies take out two folders and open them.  It didn't cover the entire desk and it would at times fall because they weren't sturdy enough.  I had a lot of innocent wandering eyes!

So I found this online and couldn't resist to try it.  Boy am I glad I invested in this. Look how much of it covers the student's desk.

You can find these HERE and check it out for more info. You can buy 12 of these for $35.  It's definitely an awesome bargain and will save your voice from saying, "Boys and girls, eyes on your own tests please".

I have my kiddo's take these out every Friday when it's Test Day.
The students keep them in their desk.  Every Friday, they come to class, unpack and take these out as they know it's apart of test taking.

I like to have them in their desks because it gets time consuming to pass them out every time I feel it necessary to use them.  I am very spontaneous and like to grade classwork or my kiddies writing after I feel they have mastered whatever it is we are learning.  So it's kind of an impulse thing when I say
"Privacy shields out please".

I would highly suggest investing in these.  They have lasted me so long already and feel they have a good few years before I think about getting another pack.

How do you have your kiddies protect their tests?
I'd love to hear your ideas.

On another note!
A good friend of mine told me yesterday I taught her younger cousin this year and she had no idea it was me.  LoL
What made me really smily was that the little girl told her how much she loved me and I was the first teacher who never raised my voice or scolded her.  She said I was so nice and such a great teacher.
Unfortunately in the middle of the year she had to move to another class for private reasons but she was devastated when she heard the news.
It's always nice to hear how you were admired by someone.
I always think I'm a great teacher but when a kiddo tells you, it's just nice that your doing a great job.

Off to babysit!

February Currently and a Surprise Party!

I am linking up with Farley for her February Currently.

I feel like I always have so much to do and such little time.  So I am finally going to start planning my engagement party for this July.  I was holding back for a while because I was planning my honey and his twin brother a surprise 30th birthday!  I did it this past Friday and O.M.G were they surprised!  It made me giggle because when my fiance's brother walked in everyone yelled surprise!  He still had no clue what was going on. LoL  Too funny!  My fiance was definitely surprised.  Here are some pics we took.

Me and my love by the picture cake we got him.

These are my parents. =)

The twinnies and I!  Don't they look alike? Gosh I hope I have twins.

Anyways moving on.

This is my favorite picture.  I made the posterboard at Staples for just $10!  I had everyone sign the posterboard as they walked in. That was them when they were babies and when they are grown up.  I obviously didn't know my fiance when he was a baby but when I picked this up at Staples I almost cried.  They are just so stinkin cute and to see them now when they are grown up, it's just liked ugh my heart melts. =)  I just love them both so much!

Those are beer mug candles at the end of the table!  Aren't they amazing!!!  I thought it was so them for beer mug candle centerpieces.  Everyone loved it!

Finally I got each of them this cute little mug I saw at Party City.

We had the party at a venue and included for the night was dinner, beer, wine and sangria!  Let's just say everyone had a little too much fun and didn't want to leave!

So happy I put this party together.  I wanted them to have a memorable 30th birthday party and I think they did.  I coulnd't have done it without my soon to be mother-in-law.  My goodness I am so grateful for her.  She's amazing!

Football Sunday and an Amazing Sale!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday everyone.  Are you as excited as me?  I hope so because I am not excited at all. LoL  My team isn't playing so really I can't be bothered.  I am more excited about the food being served than the actual game.  Actually I lied.  I paid a whole bunch of money into Super Bowl pools this year at school and with some of my friends.  Last year I won almost $500 in winnings!  Talk about luck. =)
